July 22-29, 2008 Be able to confidently greet Latinos Ask questions that pertain to the health of the patient Demonstrate the application of Spanish with an emphasis on simple conversations built around common verbs Participate in situational dialogues that would likely occur with a Spanish speaking patient Identify specific medical/dental terminology related to healthcare Perform pain assessment in Spanish Learn key phrases related to taking vital signs, prescribing medication or dental hygiene Perform a physical or oral exam in Spanish 40 hours of directed self-study 10 hours of classroom Spanish in Mexico 30 hours of clinic work in the towns and villages around Tampico
